I'm back!

I'm back! I first was in a blogging rut for a few weeks and then went out of town for a family reunion for a week. But I'm back and ready to craft, decorate, create, etc.

But first off, a very important milestone (for me and my blog, anyway). Can you guess what it is?

100 is the square of 10

100 is the basis of percentages

100 is the sum of the first prime numbers

100 is the number of years in a century

100 is the number of tiles in a standard scrabble game

100 is the number of yards in an American Football field

100 is the record number of points scored in one NBA game

100 degrees celsius is the boiling temperature of pure water at sea level

and 100 is the number of followers my blog has!!!

Woohoo!

I really never thought I'd have this many followers. Seriously. And I know it's just 100. Some people reach that milestone in 2 days. One of my New Years Resolutions for my blog was to have 100 followers by the end of this year. I obviously didn't have high bloggers self-esteem. But thanks to all of my blogging amigos, I was able to speed that up a bit.

So, I wanted to do a little giveaway to thank my followers. So come back within the week and check it out.

Better After

Ever heard of the blog Better After? I absolutely love it! They feature your design projects/makeovers. And they're featuring my family room today. Yippee! Check it out here. For those of you who've been following my blog for awhile, this is old. Sorry. You're probably getting sick of seeing my family room. I'm just so excited. Had to tell you all.

So, if you want your project featured, send Lindsey an e-mail.

And don't worry. I haven't forgotten about the coffee table. I'm still in the middle of working on it. Life has just gotten in the way . . . which I don't mind at all sometimes.

Home Decor Obsession: nursery curtains

So, remember the curtains in Ava's nursery? I found them on clearance a few years ago at Walmart and grabbed all that they had. I knew they'd be perfect in a baby nursery.

Fast forward two years and we're in our new house. While getting everything ready to hang, we realized that the curtains were too short for the windows. Ugghhhh. I was very disappointed but knew that I needed to still use them. There was no way I was going to go out and spend more money when I had beautiful curtains right in front of me.
So this is our little secret. Shhhh. Don't tell.

Who said they had to go all the way to the top of the window anyway? Plus, we don't open her blinds too often, so I don't think the neighbors will be complaining about this "eye sore"(and I think we might have the nicest neighbors anyway).

thank you

Thank you to everyone who wrote those sweet comments about the nursery post and for the four blogs that featured it. It all made me so excited. I've been beaming!!! I'm so pleased with how it all turned out. I love to decorate my new home and can't wait to do the other rooms!

On another happy note, we've already made a few changes to the nursery. Since my baby's not such a baby anymore, we decided to convert the crib into a toddler bed. I thought it'd be a nightmare, but it's been exactly the opposite. A dream! Ava loves sleeping in her "big girl bed" and has done surprisingly well. Now onto potty training . . . .

Craft Obsession: teepee tents

For Christmas, little Ava received a teepee made by her Grandma V. We had one growing up and I have very fond memories of my siblings and I always playing in it. Like us, this little girl loves it!

And you can make one too!

Meg from Boutique Nutmeg Designs created this non-sew teepee and you can see the directions here on Sew, Mama, Sew.
or make this twin sheet TeePee Tent at Obsessively Stitching here.

Happy Teepeeing!!!

Home Decor Obsession: Master Bedroom Drapes

Had a wonderful Easter. Hope you did too.

We finally put some drapes up in our master bedroom. For some reason, it took almost 8 months to do it. This is what it looked like before:

And this is what it looks like now:

It's made a huge difference. I'm sure our neighbors behind us are now doing the happy dance. They're probably now hoping that we'll actually do our yard.

Still in the middle of doing our MBedroom. We're going to put the rest of the hardwood floors in when my husband gets out of school. Hopefully will have pics within the next 6 months.

Happy Easter!

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter! We'll be spending it with family, which I love.

Here's the easter dress I made for Ava. I made it from the Itty Bitty Dress pattern which was resized for a toddler by Karen. I did make a few changes though and added a sash. I don't have too many great pictures of it, cause she was acting crazy (terrible twos have begun) and my camera battery ran out. :(
