:: Halloween - free printable card

Last year, I was inspired by The Busy Budgeting Mama and created this pop-up Halloween card for the girl's grandparents.

They all loved them.
So, I think it might be a yearly tradition.
This year I made it slightly different but with the same wording.
And I also made one for you to give out to your loved ones.
Print it out, cut out the pics, put it on a stick, and mail it!
So easy!

You can go here to print it off.

And I wish I could show you the pictures of the ones we made this year,
but my computer isn't working right now (uploading photos).
So, maybe next week.
Also, thanks to Sprik Space for the free design.

Have a great weekend!
We have a trunk or treat we'll be going to
and hopefully after, we'll carve our pumpkins!

:: Books - halloween favorite

The girl's favorite Halloween book this year is this one.
There was an old lady who swallowed a bat.
Just like "There was and old lady who swallowed a fly",
except this one obviously has to do with goblins and ghosts.
I think I might have it memorized.

What are some of your kid's favorite halloween books?
We definitely need more!

And I love watching Reese read books in her own little language.
It's the cutest!

:: Some news.

Sorry I've been MIA.
I obviously haven't been that great at blogging lately.
And like most other bloggers, I sorta have a love/hate relationship with blogging.
I love to blog, don't get me wrong, but some things in life are just more important to me.
And these two little munchkins are my main reasons.
I know these moments soon will be gone and I want to cherish each of them while I can.
With that being said, I'll probably be blogging just 2-3 times a week.
 (instead of the 5 that I was trying to do before . . . which slowly turned into once a week)

Here they are during a lazy Sunday we had yesterday.
For some reason, they love to jump and hang out on our bed.
It must be the cooler weather we've finally been having.
(aren't you loving our unfinished headboard?)

Oh, and there's another reason I haven't been that into blogging.
I'm 19 weeks pregnant.
We find out next week what we'll be having and we are so excited!

Happy Monday everyone!

:: Found - zig zag shower curtain

My girl's bathroom has been pretty boring lately.
I found this cute zig zag shower curtain online and knew it belonged in there.
It should be coming any day now and I'm very excited.
And I found the perfect free printables that will go along with the color scheme.
Can't wait to put it together.

Doesn't this just make you happy?

{it would also make a cute photography backdrop}

:: Embrace the Camera 10.11.12

I haven't embraced the camera in awhile and I was
quickly reminded about how important it is as I read
this article that has been circulated around facebook/blogland.

No matter how "unpretty" I'm feeling, it's so important
to have pictures of both me and my children . . . together.
It's not for me, but for them.
One day, I won't be here, and I hope they'd like to see pictures of themselves with me and their daddy.
And although it seems so far off, one day they won't be here with me.
They'll be off raising their own families and these pictures, these memories, I hope
will be of great comfort to me.

So, we were at Disneyland yesterday and although I know I'm not photogenic {at all}
and my roots are like 2 inches long, my hair pulled up into a ponytail, and I'm feeling very unpretty,
my little Ava doesn't care and she just wants to be in the picture with her mama.

:: Traditions - the legend of sleepy hollow

To celebrate the beginning of October,
last night we watched "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" (disney cartoon)
and ate donuts with yummy apple juice.
This might become a yearly tradition.
We saw this fun tradition here and it's definitely a keeper.

Time to put up our Halloween decor!

:: Family Happenings - pumpkin patch outing

We made a quick trip to Vegas this past weekend to go to a few family events.
On Saturday, the Gilcrease Orchard's pumpkin patch opened so we all decided to go.
We were there at around 10:00 (after being lost for a while) and it was so stinkin' hot!
But we loved watching the kids' faces light up as they found their pumpkins.
I was glad to get out of there though and into an air conditioned car. . .
Hopefully soon it will start cooling down.

Will you be going to a pumpkin patch to buy your pumpkins this year or do you buy them at the store?
{we usually buy ours from the store when they're cheap!}
