:: Dress Review and Giveaway - mikarose

About a month ago, it was my first time back to church since having Anson.
  I remember that morning just standing in my closet with all my dresses in front of me.
I was trying to figure out what I could wear
that would be comfortable, stylish, and nursing friendly.
I seriously think I stood there for 10-15 minutes, just thinking.
 I hope I'm not the only one that does this. . . . .

Well, that next week I was excited to learn that I'd be reviewing a dress from Mikarose.
  A dress that would be perfect to wear for those nursing mamas like me.
Mikarose is a company that focuses on creating modest clothing.
Clothing that can be worn while pregnant, nursing, and after.
And these dresses are made for everyone.
They come in size 0 - 2XL.

Below, I'm pictured wearing the Avery dress.

The button down front makes it easy to nurse while you're not in the comfort of your own home.
And this fabric was a little stretchy, which is always nice after you've just had a baby.
Go here to see those dresses that would be perfect during your pregnancy or while nursing.

And if you're not pregnant or nursing, here are some other dresses I love:  IreneIsabel, and Jackie
And Mikarose is offering one of my readers $50 credit to their shop!  Yay!
Enter below.
{open to US and Canada residents;  giveaway ends on 5/31}

:: Giveaway - bloom organic airbrush tanning

I have a friend, who has a friend, who owns this organic airbrush tanning business.
It sounds pretty awesome.
Who wouldn't want a summer glow in the middle of winter!
And they come to you?
And my friend is doing a giveaway on her blog here.
Note:  this giveaway is only for those that live in the Inland Empire, CA
Check it out!
There are many opportunities to win!

Here's a little about Renae and her business:

I have been married to my husband Jesse for 7 wonderful years. We have 2 children, a son Braeden who is 5 and a 2 year old daughter Poppy. They couldn't be more opposite and I couldn't be more happy. Our hearts are so full. We have been in ministry for five years learning and growing from Jesus each step of the way.
I have loved tanning since the early days of high school growing up in Bakersfield. Banana boat...boom box...105 degree weather. Then came tanning beds. Im fair skinned, that's a nice way to put it. The madness had to stop. I found airbrush tanning about two years ago and "organic" was the cherry on top. I actually care about skin now-and yours:) I'm the mom at the pool lathering my little Irish kids in SPF 50 every few hours. You don't have to damage your skin anymore to have a tan. It's a wonderful thing.

Bloom Tanning is a mobile organic airbrush tanning service, serving the Inland Empire, the OC, and Los Angeles and San Diego areas.  For whatever the occasion we want to make you come alive from the inside out. If a beautiful bronze tan is what you need to feel confident with what you already have, we can do that for you. Airbrush tanning is the safest way to achieve that flawless tan while softening your skin, naturally.

Our product is a perfect blend of natural ingredients that will bronze your skin while keeping it moisturized, radiant and hydrated throughout the tanning process. It is formulated with organic oils (high in antioxidants), green tea extract, organic herbs, vitamins and natural colours. The skin-firming formula goes to work while your tan develops. All of our products are hypoallergenic, paraben-free, and alcohol-free. The unique formula is custom blended to give you the most natural tan based on each client's skin or preference.

*This giveaway will close at midnight on Thursday December 20th PST
*This giveaway is open to INLAND EMPIRE, CA RESIDENTS ONLY!!! {i know you wish you lived here}

:: Review and Giveaway - DownEast Basics

So, I've said this a million times.
I love DownEast Basics.
It was love at first sight when I discovered it 5 years ago
and I've been shopping there ever since.
So I made a little trip to the closet and counted how many items I have of theirs.
Ummm.
Let's see.
6 dresses. 3 skirts. 7 tops. 2 pants. 3 sweaters. 3 swimsuits.
See. Love them.
I love their affordability, style, quality, and that the clothing is actually modest!
They also have adorable accessories, swimsuits, girls clothing, and items for the home.
So, needless to say, I was so excited to find out that I'd be doing a review of an item
and then do a giveaway for one of my lovely readers.
Aren't you?!
I was checking out their new arrivals and absolutely loved
this dress here.
My hubby would definitely have to take me out to a fancy, shmancy restaurant in this.

Also loved this top here.
I might wear this for a fun girls night out.

And this skirt here.
Ummm. Could I wear this all the time?

Oh, decisions, decisions.
Well, I finally chose this sweater here.
Perfect for the Fall weather that has been creeping around my little city.

I tried it out yesterday and loved it.
I wore it to church and paired it with a black pencil skirt and gray top.
{I'm terrible at the self-portraits. Obviously.}

Then I paired it with their skinny jeans and a white tank top.
If you know me personally, then you know that I'm not the model type.
{I try to do serious poses and looks and then just start laughing.}
So there you have it. I might be their biggest fan.
{And I really would like them to open one up in
Temecula, California . . . please, pretty please?}
One lucky person will get their favorite item for Fall.
Here are the rules:
Mandatory entry
- visit DownEast Basics in the new arrivals and tell me what favorite item you'd like to have for the Fall and where you'd where that item
Extra entries
- "follow" Our Daily Obsessions {go to the sidebar}
- like DownEast Basics on Facebook
- like Our Daily Obsessions on Facebook
- post about this giveaway {and leave a link} on facebook, twitter, or on your blog
Make sure you leave a separate comment with EACH ENTRY and that there's a way for me to contact you if you are the lucky winner.
If you do any of the above entries already, just leave a comment saying so!
The giveaway will end on 10.10.11 at 11pm (pst)
and the winner will be selected via Random.org and announced by 7am (pst) on 10.11.11.
The winner will have 48 hours to respond.
Good luck! Maybe you'll be the winner of this awesome giveaway!
And if you liked this giveaway then come back next Monday for another giveaway . . . possibly for your little one?

Have a great weekend!

Well, I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!
I am.
My husband officially finished his 2nd year of law school yesterday.
Whew! One more to go. We celebrated last night by getting pizza
and then we came back and had a little slumber party
in the livingroom and watched "Enchanted" with the little ones.
Ava was loving every second of it.
Oh. Plus my sister is in town for a few hours.
Can it get better than that?

Anyway, I just wanted to inform you all of an awesome fundraiser
right now going on at Worley House.
My friend, Andrea, is trying to raise money for a couple that want to adopt.
How sweet is she!
Go here to donate and to enter the giveaways.
There's some awesome stuff, I tell ya!

Pizza and a Giveaway!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FRESCHETTA® for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

So, we recently had the opportunity to taste some yummy pizza. It's the FRESCHETTA® Simply…Inspired™ pizza and it was so delicious. They come in 8 flavors and I chose the Harvest Supreme, cause any chance I can make little Ava eat her veggies . . . I do it! And we both loved it.

I also loved how it's packaged in their new Fresch-Taste Seal {which uses 30% less packaging}.

FRESCHETTA® Simply…Inspired™ is offering one of my readers a coupon for a free pizza and a bamboo cutting board. I'm loving the one that we received.

Go to Freschetta's facebook page and like them so that you can get their $2 off coupons and find out about their giveaways. You can also follow them on twitter {@FreschettaSI} to keep up with their news.

1. You must be an "Our Daily Obsessions" follower and go to Freschetta Simply Inspired and tell me what your favorite pizza is!

craft: mother's day card and canvas

Whoa. Mother's Day is definitely creeping up on us. Here are a few ideas. It's next Sunday people!!!
Last year, this was given to me by Ava for Mother's Day. So cute and so easy! I actually still have it hanging on my fridge {the wings are traced from her hand}. Just place a magnet on the back.

I think we might make these for Reese and Ava's grandmas.

The poem:
This isn't just a butterfly as you can plainly see.
I made it with my hand which is a part of me. It comes with lots of love especially to say,
I hope you have a very Happy Mother's Day!

or if you aren't into the diy card thingy . . . a photo canvas is a great gift to give your mother/grandmother or {send this post to your hubby - - he'll get the clue}.
Right now Canvas People still has their deal of a free 8x10 and you just pay for shipping, plus they'll do free touchups {for mother's day}. Just click here. {although if you buy one today, you won't get it in time for Mother's Day - - but still an awesome late gift, right?}

Oh, and don't forget about my giveaway! It ends on Saturday!
And I'll be linking to these parties here.

What I'm Loving Wednesday: Valentina Dress Pattern and a Giveaway!!!

The Easter dresses were a success. They both looked adorable in them, so I of course had to do a quickie photo shoot.

So, a little about this dress pattern . . .

A few years back when I started blogging, I found a sewing/refashioning blog that I loved called
My Mama Made It. Since then she's changed the name of her blog to Made by Lex that you can find here.

She came out with a pattern that she sells on her etsy site here called the Valentina Dress. Love. It. The pattern comes in size 6 months to girls 8 that you can see here {currently the pattern isn't on her etsy site, but she says she'll be adding more soon}.

And it is so easy to make! No button holes and no zippers. Just the way I like it! I also love how versatile it is. You can make it casual or really fancy looking {like the Easter dresses}. It really is my go-to pattern. I've made about 5 or 6 of these dresses now and not one is alike.
Well, Alexis has been so kind and generous to giveaway one of her Valentina Dress Patterns
{pdf} to one of my fabulous readers. How sweet is that!!!

Here are the details:

This giveaway starts Wednesday, April 27

and will end on Saturday, May 7 @ 9 p.m. (PST

{Make sure you leave your e-mail in the comment section so I can contact you.}
To Enter:
1. Tell me what's on your sewing to-do list.

3. Become a fan of Lex Designs on facebook, come back here and leave me a separate comment letting me know.

Good luck! If you're the lucky winner, then you'll be sent the pattern in PDF form through e-mail shortly after.
Oh and because I know that you're totally not sick of seeing a ton of pictures of my little girls in their Easter dresses . . . here are some more.

I'll be posting to these linking parties found here.
