:: Embrace the Camera - 05.23.13

A few weeks ago, Anson was given a name and a blessing by Tommy.
It was such a beautiful blessing.
 We blessed him in Vegas and were joined by many family and friends
who took part in this special day.
Anson is one special little boy.

:: Embrace the Camera 05.02.13

We're embracing the camera today on Photo Booth again.
The girls love playing with this camera on the mac.

Anson is now 7 weeks and cracking smiles every once in awhile.
Reese has become my dancing, singing, defiant child.
Ava is my big helper that likes to whine at times.
Loving these children of mine.

:: Embrace the Camera 04.04.13

We decided to take some photos today.
Anson is 3 weeks old tomorrow.
Reese found a sharpie.  Is it that obvious?
And Ava now has short hair.
Me?  Well, I'm still trying to get used to having three kiddos.
But life is good.

Happy Thursday from the Smiths!

:: Embrace the Camera 02.28.13

Early morning snuggles with my little ones.
And here I thought they'd sleep in.
Crazy to think that in 2 short weeks we'll be adding another snuggler to the mix.
And we can't wait!

:: Embrace the Camera 02.07.13

My three little ones and I.
5 more weeks until I have all three of them in my arms.

I don't think I ever blogged about this, but I always like to announce our pregnancies to our family in a somewhat creative way - - if I can get my creative juices flowing.  We were going up to Vegas and to Utah in August, so we thought it would be the perfect time to announce to everyone.

The day we found out we were pregnant, we took a picture with my iphone,
then went to phonto (to write on the picture) and then imported to instagram where we used the cool filters.  From there we went to stickygram, uploaded the finished picture and ordered magnets to give to our family members.  We placed the magnet on the fridge and had Ava ask her Grandma/Grandpa/Aunt/Uncle to get her a drink.  For some it took awhile to notice, but eventually they did.  And Ava loved being a part of it.

:: Embrace the Camera - 01.10.13

Here we are embracing the camera on this cold, rainy January day.
It's definitely a sweater day.

Luckily, I was just on call today.
So I was able to stay home with these two cuties.
But I now have to go . . . I have a birthday party planning session with Miss Ava.
She REALLY wants a unicorn party.
We'll see what we come up with.

Happy Thursday!

:: Embrace the Camera - 01.03.13

After Christmas, we went to Vegas to visit family for a few days.
While we were there, Tommy's brother and his family
invited us to go to Mt. Charleston to go sledding.
And look at us Californians.
We look slightly pathetic.
Especially with our cardboard sled.
The girls were freezing after 20 minutes of being in the snow. . .
we may need to invest in some snow gear some day.
But it was fun while it lasted and thank goodness Grandma came
cause she had the idea of bringing up hot chocolate.
A perfect snack to end our 20 minute snow adventure.

:: Embrace the Camera 11.01.12

We had a fun Halloween evening last night!
And Reese gave me the best Halloween gift ever.
She wore the costume I made for her.
{She would scream when we tried to put it on her.
 But really, what's Snow White without the poisoned apple?}
And what a cute poisoned apple she was!
Ava loved being Snow White and she made many comments about
how she looks good with black hair.
Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween!

:: Embrace the Camera 10.11.12

I haven't embraced the camera in awhile and I was
quickly reminded about how important it is as I read
this article that has been circulated around facebook/blogland.

No matter how "unpretty" I'm feeling, it's so important
to have pictures of both me and my children . . . together.
It's not for me, but for them.
One day, I won't be here, and I hope they'd like to see pictures of themselves with me and their daddy.
And although it seems so far off, one day they won't be here with me.
They'll be off raising their own families and these pictures, these memories, I hope
will be of great comfort to me.

So, we were at Disneyland yesterday and although I know I'm not photogenic {at all}
and my roots are like 2 inches long, my hair pulled up into a ponytail, and I'm feeling very unpretty,
my little Ava doesn't care and she just wants to be in the picture with her mama.

:: Embrace the Camera 08.09.12

Sorry for being so lazy lately.
Summer's almost over so hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things.

We were able to visit family in Utah and Vegas recently
and had a blast.
We spent some time up at our family cabin and the girls absolutely loved it.
I've definitely missed that place.
I'm so grateful for a place like that.
Where we can rest, relax, and enjoy eachother's company.

What have you been able to do this summer?

:: Embrace the Camera 07.26.12

We've lived in our community for almost 3 years now
and have never used the paddle boats.
We had so much fun!
Here we are, just the four of us, paddling away.
