Sew-Along {for Japan} Update

I finally finished the sew-along for Japan that I had mentioned in this post here. And I think they turned out pretty cute {if I do say so myself}.

I'm sorry to say that I started them Wednesday evening and not on Monday with everyone else. Sometimes life gets a little too busy . . . working, running after a 3 year old, taking care of a 4 month old and making sure she's content (by the way, I can't believe Reese is 4 months. crazy!), and everything else in between. But Thursday afternoon I set some time aside to start them {and finish them}.

So here they are. I made two. One from Ava to a little girl in Japan and one from Reese for a little baby girl in Japan. On one of them I decided to sew on a skirt using this easy tutorial here. Love how they turned out! My friend, Stephanie, also followed the sew-along and did a cute boy version that you can see here.

You still have time to make one too! Check it out here. The deadline is on May 25th and you need to mail them to the address shown in this post here. The goal is to send off 500 so please help! A big thank you to Chelsea of Pink Fig and Suzan of Living with Punks who organized this. What a fun project! Now if only I could hug those little ones in Japan.

Okay. And why have I never heard of fusible fleece? Love that stuff!

I'll be posting to a few linking parties here.

  3. I also love that dress idea and thanks so much for linking to that tutorial. I love gifting onesies to new parents, but I think I might have to add a onesie dress now that I know how easy they are to make!
