:: family happenings

A few months ago I was trying to figure out what I was going to do
about swimming lessons for little Ava.
We couldn't afford something that was $15-$20/lesson (usually for 1/2 hour)
and I think the closest swimming school
was in the next city over (about 15 min. away).
But I knew that Ava was ready.
She needed to learn soon how to swim.
That's when I had an idea.
I wonder if I could find something on Craigslist.
And amazingly enough, I did!
A college student that was trying to earn extra money during the summer.
This wasn't only a deal, but a steal!!!
30 min. lessons for $5/person for 4-5 kiddos?
And she comes to you?
Amazing!
Not only is the deal amazing but so is the instructor!
The kids love her.

So this is what we've been doing for 1/2 hr
of almost every day the past few weeks.

Ava can now hold her breath under water, open her eyes
under water, jump into the pool, and is learning to float.
She's doing awesome.
She's a little rebellious at times,
but other than that is doing great!
Yay for swim lessons!
I can now go to the pool
and not worry . . . as much.

And I love what happens after swimming lessons.
The little munchkins are both so tired, that they usually crash for a few hours . . .
which means a few glorious hours of "me" time
{or at least "cleaning the house with no distractions" time}.
And little Reese?
She's 8 months and is just all over the place.
Crawling everywhere and standing wherever she can.
Ava didn't even start crawling until 8 months!
This is crazy!
Here's a few pictures from her monthly photoshoot.

Have a great Wednesday!
