So much to be grateful for.

Last Friday was the dreaded day. The day I went back to work.
All I ever wanted to be was a mom. Sounds cliche, I'm sure. I went to nursing school and became a nurse just as a back-up plan. Just in case. Never did I think that I'd have to put my hubby through undergraduate school and then through law school and that I'd be working this long. But here I am.
I went through many emotions that day. Guilt. Sadness. Nervousness. Frustration. And then as I was preparing myself for the next day, I felt an amazing calm and peaceful feeling. Something that I don't usually feel as I go back to work. I know that He is mindful of my situation and that it won't be like this forever.
I do have a lot to be grateful for . . .
I have two healthy, beautiful little girls and an amazingly supportive husband. I have a flexible job with a boss who's been through what I'm going through and who's so understanding and also tries to work around my husband's schedule so we don't have to take them to a friends house. And especially, to have a job during this time when so many people are out of work.
So much to be grateful for.
{These pictures were taken the day before I went back. Love these precious moments.}

  2. I know exactly how you feel. It sure is hard to try and balance being a mom and working! I always dread work until I am there and remember how much I love nursing. And then I love my kids all the more once I get home! Good luck making the adjustment. I feel ya!

  4. I know exactly how you feel. It was so hard for me to go back to work. I look back now and realize that I am super lucky to have my mom watch our little one, I know that she is in good hands which puts my mind at ease! Best of luck!!

  5. I'm a MOM/RN in a very similar situation, and I can understand how you feel. I've had to work while putting my husband through dental school and then for the past 3yrs while he establishes a practice. Try to look at this time as a blessing for your kids: they are getting extra bonding time with their daddy while you work.

  6. Hi, I found your blog through lilluna where you posted your cute printable. I just read this post and can totally relate. I ended up putting my husband through his undergrad and through law school and an extra year of business school. I worked full time until we had our second baby and then stayed on part time (well 30 hours so we could keep benefits). It was so nice to have a flexible boss that understands your situation. Good luck with the new job and of course law school.
